I was born and grew up in Montreal, Canada. I received a B.A. in Psychology from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada in 1987.

My first M.A. was in East-West Psychology from CIIS (California Institute of Integral Studies) in San Francisco, California, USA in 1990. This degree focused on the integration of Western Psychology and Eastern Philosophy. I worked in outdoor experiential education including teaching Psychology on a programme called Class Afloat, and worked as a Group Leader and Tour Director in Canada, United States, Europe, and Israel.

In 1997 I completed my second M.A. which was a Masters in Counselling Psychology (M.A.C.P.) from Sofia University (formerly ITP - Institute of Transpersonal Psychology) in Palo Alto, California, USA, where I also received my Ph.D. in Transpersonal Psychology in 1999.

I completed my EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) training in 2000 and became an Accredited EMDR Approved Practitioner in 2001 by the EMDR UK & Ireland Association and Approved EMDR Consultant in 2006.

I held the post of Specialist Psychologist in the Alcohol & Trauma Service in Sussex Partnership NHS Trust in Brighton, East Sussex for over 9 years. Currently I work in private psychotherapy practice where I work with adults, couples, and provide clinical supervision.
